016 – Interview: Carolyn Zukowski of Krumlov House

May 25, 2007 in Czech Republic

You’ve come here from the Krumlov House site? Welcome! After having a listen, click here to subscribe to our show, for free. It’ll open iTunes and download the latest episode of the Indie Travel Podcast every week.

This week the Indie Travel Podcast talks to Carolyn Zukowski of Hostel Krumlov House. Krumlov House is both the first and the smallest hostel in Cesky Krumlov, in the south of the Czech Republic.

Carolyn talks about the romance that brought her to Cesky Krumlov, owning a hostel, and the town itself. She also talks about how hosteling is changing and gives novice hostel-goers some tips on backpacking in Europe.

Her tips include advice on booking hostels in advance and what to bring…or not to bring.

Our monthly interviews are a little longer than standard shows – we think it’s worthwhile! Unfortunately this means there aren’t any transcripts for them either.

  1. Hey guys, great site! I can’t believe I’ve only just discovered it. Loved this interview because it gives an insight into the world of hostels, one that I’ve always been interested in. I agree with everything Carolyn says about backpacking changing. I’ve wanted to stay at that hostel for years and it’s nice to see it has a nice owner. Ok, off to listen to more podcasts! Cheers, Kirsty
