Linda and I have been travelling through New Zealand over the last nine months and getting to know our homeland, Aotearoa, once more. Here’s my favourite picks from Auckland and north over the last few months.

Sitting on Mt Victoria, Devonport overlooking the Hauraki Gulf with Rangitoto in the background

Linda spotted this shag while out kayaking near Okahu Bay, Auckland

Grapes on the vine at Ransom winery, just north of Auckland

Angela, our ITP t-shirt wearer (and designer), takes the short-cut home from the fishing spot

Big 360 views from Te Whau Point, Waiheke (and an expensive winery restaurant)

The last few days of Inverness Estate -- a Clevedon winery ... the owners have sold up!

Auckland City from the ferry crossing between Devonport and downtown

Welsh listener, Rhi, getting her feet wet at the Goat Island Marine Reserve, Leigh

Big moon over Doubtless Bay, Northland

Beautiful photos! They tell a fantastic story of New Zealand! I can’t wait to visit your country.
January 19th, 2010 at 1:14 pmWonderful photos! My boyfriend and I are coming to New Zealand in March for two months for touring and hiking on both islands. We live on the volcanic island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands (Spain) so are very much looking forward to greenery, mountains & fresh running water (as we don´t have that here)…..
January 21st, 2010 at 1:25 am….with the water comment, I meant rivers, lakes and waterfalls…..not water coming out of the tap
January 21st, 2010 at 1:26 amAwesome pictures, guys! You’re getting me excited for my upcoming trip to the North Island. (Not sure if I’ll get there in the next month though…it would have been nice to meet!)
January 22nd, 2010 at 3:12 pmCool, great to hear you’re both coming down … sadly we’re leaving in mid-February but keep an eye on the site, as we have some more great video and some itineraries coming up in the next few months.
January 22nd, 2010 at 4:59 pmGORGEOUS!!
January 23rd, 2010 at 2:19 pmSo gorgeous! I hope to go there someday…
January 25th, 2010 at 5:47 pmThat is some deep water, not sure if I would have been brave enough to take the short cut. Nice photos guys!
January 26th, 2010 at 5:25 amThanks, everyone.
January 26th, 2010 at 2:45 pmWow, that brings back some memories. One of the nicest places on Earth for me is called Little Oneroa Beach, if you ever get back to Waiheke, spend some time there. I think that place is magic.
Beautiful photos
January 26th, 2010 at 8:28 pmHi guys, long time but we’re back on firm ground now and can catch up with all your posts! That water looks freezing for a short-cut! I was in NZ for three month with my family, it’s such a beautiful place. We lived in Nelson, the “center of New Zealand” for a while. They had a plaque on top of the hill proclaiming it.
Let me get back to reading your posts! Cheers
January 28th, 2010 at 3:10 pmHey, you have wonderful photos there! I am running a community blog for travelling and people from around the world upload photos (postcard-like) from their travels! Would you like to participate in it ? There are currently only a few photos (postcards) from New Zealand! I would appreciate if some of your photos take place there too! You can also create your own profile there and place a link to your blog as well!
January 28th, 2010 at 3:25 pm@Dragos Little Oneroa is a beaut!
@Aly It was pretty warm actually
Are you grounded now, or just taking a bit of time to get your feet dry again?
