There’s at least one hostel in Porto – I recently stayed at the Andarilho Oporto hostel. Although I seemed to hit it at a bad time (the entire place was booked with stag parties…and me) it was well-situated close to one of the main shopping streets, not far from a metro stop heading toward the airport, and a leisurely walk to the riverfront. Not the best place I’ve ever stayed, but adequate. The rooftop garden could be a fun place to drink with friends.

That’s great news. We didn’t find it during our time there. Sorry to hear about the stag do’s, but thanks for the find, Emily.
