After almost ten months at home in New Zealand, we’re back on the road. The next adventure is ten months in Alcala de Henares, Spain.
Summer’s a great time to be in New Zealand — the weather tends to be pretty good, and there are all sorts of events happening: pre-Christmas drinks, small parties, and general goodwill.
As expected, our first week back in Auckland was pretty full, as we spent time with family and friends and started to settle back into life at home.
Minor colds and serious body aches after an epic hill climb haven’t done anything to diminish how awesome it is to be back in New Zealand.
I may be slightly biased, but a week here has confirmed my opinion that New Zealand is the most beautiful country in the world. It’s stunning, and even more so when the weather plays nice.
After twenty months of travel, we’ve made it back to New Zealand… though not, it must be said, home.
Although we’ve very rarely been affected by jet lag during our travels, this week we were hit hard by it.
It’s been a week of serious transit — a long bus trip, several flights, even a couple of taxi rides!
Too soon, we’ve reached the end of our Balkans trip, which has been full of new things to see, do, and (perhaps most importantly) eat.
We’ve been dreaming about the Balkans for some time, so it’s great to finally be here exploring the region in depth!
