For #IndieGermany our plan was to spend 2-3 days with locals, then 3-4 days in a hotel or hostel… To see the local and touristy side of each city we visited. For Cologne, we cheated a bit and visited Cologne together with Bonn.
We met our friend and host Richard at a nice bar… Light and warmth outside at midnight? Priceless.
Unfortunately bad weather and flooding kept us off the river and away from the waterfront cafes.
And in Cologne…
Enjoyed the largest gothic cathedral in the world…
We did a walking tour by the river,
saw plenty of love locks,
and enjoyed a cold Kölsch…
with some kölsch caviar (blood sausage for the rest of us!).
and a dash of chocolate at the chocolate museum.
And a whole lot more! But we had to hit the rails with ACPRail and head to Dresden.
