Yucatan, Chiapas and Campeche in Instagram photos

Mexico is an enormous country, and a road trip around the entire thing would take more time than we had on our last trip there. So, we sadly had to limit our journey to the Yucatan Peninsula. Well, more or less — we also headed to Chiapas and Campeche.

Our road trip with our friends Ange and Janine started in Cancún in the state of Quintana Roo, and visited the towns of Izamal, Mérida, Campeche, and San Cristobal de las Casas; we also took in the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itzá, Uxmal, and Palenque. This region is spectacularly photogenic, including as it does colonial cities, Mayan ruins, cenotes, and lots and lots of tacos. Have I mentioned how much I like tacos?
